My mom got hearing aids from the Hearing Healthcare Center in Columbus, Nebraska in February, 2023. I have been going with her to nearly all of her appointments. The hearing aids have helped my mom hear me speak at my normal volume. Mom has a choice of 3 settings on her hearing aids to use in different situations. She can switch between the preprogrammed “Normal” setting – the setting she uses the most”, a “Crowd” setting, and a “Meetings” setting. She can push a tiny button on the outer part of her hearing aid repeatedly to determine what setting she likes best in that situation. When I am watching TV with her, my mom tells me to make the volume right for me. Then she selects the setting that is best for her. When I have to talk louder in order for my mom to hear me, we know that one of her hearing aids needs cleaning due to ear wax getting in the tiny tube. All cleaning is free with her plan. When she was uncomfortable with the “TV” setting, Dr. Joyce had her try a “Theater” setting and a “Meetings” setting. My mom liked the “Meetings” setting. Dr. Joyce makes adjustments to mom’s hearing aids as her hearing changes over time. There are also built in options to connect her hearings aids to the TV and to her phone. If she would want the “Phone” connection initiated, she would be able to hear her phone ring from where her phone is located to 20 feet away from her phone. Dr. Joyce and his staff have always been very respectful and always communicate in a clear caring way. Dr. Joyce explains every detail so well, I seldom have to ask a question. I have been very happy with the care, attention, and help they have been giving to my mom.

The SoundGear has helped me a lot at work. I have no excuse not to hear somebody while standing next to a locomotive. SoundGear is definitely a step above all other hearing protection.
